Beach Bike Ride for Charity Raises $9600 for The American Cancer Society

The Cusson family of Wells Beach, joined over 120 riders who completed the 5th Annual Beach Bike Ride for Charity. The 2014 Beach Bike Ride raised over $9600. for the American Cancer Society.

Over one hundred and twenty committed cyclists partnered with local sponsors, donors and volunteers to raise over $9600. for the America Cancer Society ( ACS ) during the 5th Annual Beach Bike Ride for Charity this summer.

The check was presented to the ACS during their Awards Night Event. “This donation will have a huge impact to help cancer patients throughout Maine receive life-saving treatment,” stated Erika Gould, of ACS.

“All adminstrative expenses have been donated to the Beach Bike Ride to further reduce costs and maximize our contributions,” stated Sarah Farweather a volunteer for the Beach Bike Ride. “100% of the proceeds from this event have been donated to the American Cancer Society”.

A special thanks goes out to all Beach Bike Ride participants and the Town of Wells, for their time and generosity to make this 5th Annual Beach Bike Ride a success.

Sponsors included the Atlantic Oceanfront Motel, The Wells Lobster Pound, VXI, Summertime Rentals, Bangor Savings, Peoples Choice Credit Union, The Seaside Group, East Winds Resort, Liberty Ride, Perseverance Sports, Ciambro and More Construction.

The Wells Police department and town employees once again provided the necessary support to make the ride a success. “We thank Chief Putnam and the Wells Police along with our riders, board members, sponsors, donors, volunteers and all of the people of Wells for their support,” stated Mike Fairweather, a volunteer for the event.

Riders of all ages completed the beautiful, ten-mile seacoast ride starting at 8:00AM and were treated to refreshments at the Wells Harbor finish. Friends and neighbors cheered along the way.
